ALBUFEIRA, Portugal, March 7 (Xinhua) -- China coach Bruno Bini will field more bench players for their last game at Algarve Cup against Iceland on Wednesday.
After Tuesday's training, Frenchman Bini vowed to make big changes to the starting 11 against Iceland for the ninth place, earning goalie Bi Xiaolin and midfielder Yao Wei chances to debut in the 12-strong women's soccer tournament.
China finished fourth in Group C, losing 1-0 and 2-1 to the Netherlands and Australia respectively and tying 0-0 with Sweden. Iceland finished third in Group B, drawing 1-1 and 0-0 with Norway and Spain respectively and losing 2-0 to Japan.
"I'm always ready for the game," Bi Xiaolin told Xinhua after Tuesday's practice session.
Bi's opinion was echoed by Yao Wei. "I can feel the team's progress game after game. We have shown our teamwork, and tactically followed the coach very well," she said.
China had recorded a 2-2 draw with Iceland in Yongchuan Women's International Invitation last October, their debut after the Rio Olympic Games, where they made into last eight.
