JAKARTA, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's capital of Jakarta will host the 20th Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) summit from Sunday to Tuesday with dozens of state leaders and high profile dignitaries confirmed to attend the meeting.

A total of 16 VVIPs, including South African, Sri Lankan presidents and Australian prime minister, have confirmed to attend the summit, a senior official of the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry said Thursday.

The event will be held in Jakarta's landmark JCC convention center, said the ministry's Director General for Asia Pacific and African affairs Desra Percaya at a press conference.

A business forum attended by some 250 businessmen from 21 IORA member countries was scheduled on Monday. Indonesian President Joko Widodo was expected to deliver his speech in the forum, he added.

Indonesia holds the rotating chairmanship of the IORA this year. To secure the upcoming summit, Indonesia will deploy 12,000 military and police personnel.
