LAGOS, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- At least three travelers lost their lives and several others were injured when a luxurious bus plunged into the Majidun River, Ikorodu in southwest Nigeria on Friday morning, an official said.
Bodies of three passengers in the bus have been recovered, while 48 others were rescued alive, a regional spokesperson for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) told Xinhua.
He said nine survivors are being attended to at the Lagos State Emergency Trauma center.
The luxurious bus had a brake failure and lost control, Adesina Tiamiyu, General Manager of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) told reporters.
The bus was coming from southern Enugu State to Lagos.
