BRASILIA, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- The approval rating of Brazilian President Michel Temer has fallen from 14.6 percent in October to 10.5 percent in February, according to a poll by the MDA Institute and the National Confederation of Transport (CNT) on Wednesday.
The government's overall disapproval rating rose from 36.7 percent to 44.1 percent, with only 38.9 percent of respondents finding the government's performance "regular."
The percentage of those approving of the president's job fell from 31.7 percent to 24.4 percent.
Temer took on the presidency on Aug. 31, 2016, following former President Dilma Rousseff's impeachment.
The same poll also found that former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is leading voter preferences for the 2018 presidential elections.
The poll results showed that 30.5 percent of respondents would favor a Lula presidency, followed by former senator and environmental activist Marina Silva with 11.8 percent. Only 3.7 percent favored Temer to win the 2018 elections.
