KAMPALA, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Angola League champions CD Premeiro De Agosto have arrived in Uganda ahead of their first leg preliminary tie against hosts KCCA FC in the 2017 Confederation of African Football Champions League.

The two teams will clash on Friday as they start the campaign in Africa's most lucrative club football tournament.

"We are here to try and get a good first leg result before the return leg in Luanda. Getting a good away results matters a lot in this competition," head coach Dragan Jovic told Xinhua in an interview on Thursday.

The visiting team will be led by three foreign players: Ibukun Akinfenwa (of Nigeria), Ungenda Beaudrick (DR Congo) and Diogo Rosado (Portugal).

The Ugandan League champions have vowed to make good use of their home advantage.

Geoffrey Sserunkuma, KCCA FC's leading scorer in the Ugandan Premier League and coming directly from the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, said he is eager to score in the continental tournament.

Sserunkuma said he wants to transfer his good form on the local scene to the international stage.

"KCCA FC is a big team that needs to get to the group stage of the Champions League. We must start now by winning games in the early stages," said Sserunkuma.

Uganda's assistant team coach Morley Byekwaso told Xinhua that his side will have to be very cautious, saying they are aware of the kind of football that their Angolan opponents play.

"They are a highly passing and tactical team. So we need to take our chances and also defend well," added Byekwaso.
