China to expose traffic regulation violators

Source: Xinhua   2017-01-20 01:33:56

BEIJING, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- The names of traffic violators will be made public via media outlets to increase awareness of safety, an official statement said Thursday.

They include people who forge or use forged license plates, drunk drivers and speeding drivers, according to the statement, jointly issued by five departments including the Ministry of Public Security and the National Development and Reform Commission.

The name of the violator, variety of vehicle, plate number and the assigned punishments will all be disclosed. Other information will be excluded in order to protect citizens' legal rights, it added.

The rule will come into force starting this year's "chunyun," the annual Chinese Spring Festival travel rush.
