BEIJING, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- An industrial park for Chinese intangible cultural heritage is planned to be built in Deyang City in southwest China's Sichuan Province.

Intangible cultural heritage, a designation that focuses mainly on intangible aspects of culture, includes traditions from the past and diverse contemporary practices, including performing arts, crafts and rituals.

According to the Beijing Intangible Cultural Heritage Development Foundation, which is co-sponsoring the project with the Deyang government, the park, with an area of more than 1.67 square kilometers, will accommodate hundreds of enterprises and studios working on preserving and passing on folk culture.

The park will also serve as a tourist site to promote traditional Chinese culture and will feature art exhibitions and artisanry, as well as performances such as dance, operas and acrobatics, said Chen Siguang of the foundation.
