CHONGQING, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- A court in southwest China has ordered the producers of a Hollywood blockbuster film to pay more than two million yuan (295,000 U.S. dollars) to a local scenic area.

Paramount Pictures Corporation and Beijing-based 1905 Internet Technology Co. Ltd., producers of the movie "Transformers: Age of Extinction," have been ordered to pay losses and legal fees to Wulong Scenic Area in Chongqing Municipality, the Chongqing No.3 Intermediate People's Court said in a statement Thursday.

The scenic area accused the producers of contract violation in July 2014.

According to the scenic area, the producers promised to show the logo of the scenic area on the big screen as a product placement, but the logo was nowhere to be found after "Transformers" debuted.

The court also rejected the counterclaim of 1905 Internet Technology Co. Ltd.

The defendants and the plaintiff said they would decide whether to appeal or not after discussions.

"Transformers: Age of Extinction," the fourth installment in the robot franchise, earned 630 million yuan in its opening weekend on the Chinese mainland in 2014. It eventually managed to gross more than 1.7 billion yuan in box office on the Chinese mainland.
