PHNOM PENH, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- The Cambodian national football team defeat visiting Sri Lankan squad 4-0 in an international friendly match at the Olympic Stadium here Sunday night.
In the first half of the game, Cambodian player Soeuy Visal headed a goal in the 2nd minute as his teammate Thierry Chantha Bin headed another goal in the 41st minute.
Entering the second half of the tournament, athlete Keo Sokpheng earned two more goals for the team in the 69th and 89th minutes.
Live broadcast on BTV news channel, the game attracted a crowd of around 40,000 home fans, mostly youths.
The match was a warm-up one before the Cambodian team to face Laos on Oct. 15 at the Olympic Stadium in their opening game of the AFC Suzuki Cup qualifiers.
