VIENTIANE, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Runners are set to conquer a 385-kilometer marathon in Laos' World Heritage town of Luang Prabang in October for charity purpose.
The event will be held during Oct. 18-21 to raise funds for the Children's Hospital in Luang Prabang. Five runners will team up to complete the mission, Lao state-run news agency KPL reported Thursday.
In 2014, a group of young Lao professionals decided to join the Luang Prabang Half Marathon and helped raise funds for the Lao Hospital for Children which was opened in February 2015.
Carlo Bacalla, a Filipino national, did the Run for Lao Children Hospital alone over five days running an average of 75-80 km per day in 2014. He will join this year's marathon, said KPL.
