RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Yuan Yanping secured her third straight Paralympic judo +70kg title as China won another six gold medals in Rio on Saturday.
The 40-year-old defeated Uzbekistan's Khayitjon Alimova in the final with an ippon and a yuko at Carioca Arena 3.
Yuan, who was born with severe myopia, also won gold in the event at the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Games.
"She [Alimova] is an old opponent," Yuan told the Paralympic News Service. "We have fought many matches together and she's improved a lot recently.
"But I fully implemented the strategy of my coaches, to take my time, I didn't rush in. But this is not my best performance, I've done better in previous competitions."
In the bronze medal match, Turkey's Mesme Tasbag defeated Bulgaria's Arina Kachan.
China remained at the top of the medal standings after the third day of competition with 26 gold, 24 silver and 19 bronze.
Britain were second with 15 gold, followed by Ukraine (12), the USA (eight) and Brazil (five).
Peng Qiuping smashed her own world record to win gold in the women's 50m backstroke S3.
The 22-year-old clocked 48.49 seconds at the Olympic Aquatics Stadium to beat her previous record of 49.91.
Fellow Chinese swimmer Meng Guofen took silver in 51.42 and Lisette Teunissen of the Netherlands claimed bronze in 53.44.
Peng, who suffers from impaired muscle power, also won gold in the mixed 4x50m freestyle 20 points at these Games.
Chinese teenager Xu Xihan beat Sarah Louise Rung of Norway to take gold in the women's 50m butterfly.
Xu, 16, touched the line in 43.62 seconds, 2.05 seconds ahead of Norway's Sarah Louise Rung. Italy's Giulia Ghiretti claimed bronze.
Xu's visual impairment is the result of a car accident at age 13 months.
Chinese cyclist Li Zhangyu clinched his second gold medal of the Rio Paralympics by beating Arnoud Nijhuis in the men's C1-2-3 1000m time trial.
Li clocked one minute 1:11.937 seconds to finish ahead of the Netherlands Nijhuis by 2.79 seconds. Canada's Tristen Chernove took bronze in 1:14.716
The 28-year-old, who was born with cerebral palsy, also grabbed gold in the men's C1 3000m individual pursuit on Friday.
China's Xu Qing claimed his third gold medal of the Rio Paralympics by winning the men's 50m freestyle S6 final.
The 23-year-old finished in 28.81 seconds to beat Colombia's Nelson Crispin Corzo by 0.46 seconds. China's Jia Hongguang took bronze in 29.87.
Xu, who lost both arms after a car crash when he was six, also secured gold medals here in the men's 50m butterfly S6 and the mixed 4x50m freestyle 20 points.
He has now won 10 gold medals at three editions of the Paralympic Games.
And Yang Liwan secured her third Paralympic gold medal for China, winning the women's shot put F54.
The 38-year-old recorded a best throw of 7.89m to fall just one centimeter short of her own world record set in April.
Tunisia's Hania Aidi took silver with a longest throw of 6.86m and Fadhila Nafati grabbed bronze with 6.38m.
Yang also won gold in the event at the 2012 Games in London, where she also triumphed in the javelin F54/55/56.
Competing at her third Paralympics, Yang was left paraplegic after being struck by a falling object in 1996.
