RABAT, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- Canadian plane maker Bombardier is planning to relocate a portion of its operations to Morocco in a move to balance its costs, local media reported on Monday.
Morocco's financial daily l'Economiste said the Canadian company will relocate parts of its operations in Belfast, Northern Ireland, to Morocco and Mexico.
The move will add around 700 jobs to the company's plant in the North African country, the report said.
Bombardier Belfast produces a range of aircraft parts, including the wings and fuselage of the flagship CSeries passenger jets, it said.
Last year, the company also announced delocalization of parts of its operations from Canada to Morocco, Mexico and India as part of its cost reduction plans.
With its 80 global sites and 73,000 staff, the company which earned around 20 billion U.S. dollars in 2014 recorded a loss estimated at 4.9 billion dollars during the third quarter of 2015.
