Angola thrash DR Congo to finish 5th in 2019 Women's Afrobasketball

LUANDA, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- Angola finished fifth in FIBA 2019 Women's Afrobasketball taking place in Dakar (Senegal), after beating Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) 68-48 on Saturday.

The Southern Africans who have already won the senior female FIBA Afrobasket in 2011 (Mali) and 2013 (Mozambique) ranked 6th in the previous 2017 edition.

In the last match of the event on Sunday, the host Senegal will be eyeing revenge after being beaten by defending Nigeria by 65-48 in 2017's edition in Bamako, Mali.
