India's daily COVID-19 caseload decreases to 275

NEW DELHI, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- India recorded 275 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, down from 291 cases tallied a day earlier, showed data released by the federal health ministry on Friday morning.

According to the data, the active caseload currently stands at 4,672 in the South Asian country.

The country also logged two more COVID-19 related deaths during the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 530,624 since the beginning of the pandemic, the ministry said.

The ministry said 44,137,617 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged from hospitals.

Over 906 million COVID-19 tests have been conducted across the country, the health ministry said Friday.

According to the ministry, 225,104 tests for COVID-19 were conducted on Thursday and a cumulative total of 906,950,463 samples have been tested so far.
