BEIJING, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed with mixed results on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.01 percent to 3,146.86 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.06 percent lower at 11,447.95 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 859.7 billion yuan (128.7 billion U.S. dollars), down from 920.6 billion yuan the previous trading day.
Stocks related to automobiles, chemical fertilizers and steel led the gains, while shipping and real estate stocks posted losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.3 percent to close at 2,410.12 points. ■
