"The Olympics can not be part of any political conflicts", said Patama Leeswadtrakul, member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and member of Executive Board of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand.
In a recent interview with Xinhua, Patama said "the Olympics is the only event that can unite the whole world through peaceful competitions. And as the organizer of the Olympic Games, the IOC must remain politically neutral."
