Oman reports 1,269 new COVID-19 cases, 175,633 in total

MUSCAT, April 14 (Xinhua) -- The Omani health ministry on Wednesday announced 1,269 new COVID-19 infections, raising the total number in the sultanate to 175,633, the official Oman News Agency reported.

Meanwhile, 874 people recovered during the past 24 hours, taking the overall recoveries to 155,645 while nine deaths were reported, pushing up the death toll to 1,807, according to a ministry statement quoted by ONA.

Omani authorities have decided that only its citizens and residents are allowed to enter the country starting April 8 as growing COVID-19 cases have exerted greater pressure on its health system. Enditem
