Several surveys in Hong Kong have shown that the majority of Hong Kong people support the decision of the National People's Congress (NPC) to improve the electoral system of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and believe it will brighten up Hong Kong's prospects.

A number of institutions and organizations in Hong Kong recently conducted surveys to find out the views of various sectors of the society on the decision of the NPC to improve the HKSAR's electoral system.

The survey revealed that 65.1 percent of the respondents agreed to set up a candidate qualification review committee to completely exclude anti-China troublemakers from the governance structure of the HKSAR. More than 68 percent of the respondents said that the NPC decision strengthened their confidence in Hong Kong's future.
