MEXICO CITY, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- The second shipment of COVID-19 vaccines from Chinese company Sinovac arrived in Mexico City on Saturday.
Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard and Chinese Ambassador to Mexico Zhu Qingqiao welcomed the vaccines at the airport.
The first shipment of COVID-19 vaccines from Sinovac arrived in Mexico City on Feb. 20.
Mexican health authorities on Feb. 22 began to vaccinate older adults with the Chinese vaccines.
Mexico, which replaced India to become the country with the world's third-largest fatalities of 182,815 on Thursday, has been carrying out a vaccination campaign in stages since December last year.
