With her handcrafted Tibetan dolls, 48-year-old YangDhawa joined a weaving competition in Lhasa, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. YangDhawa has created eight jobs for impoverished women in her village by setting up a weaving cooperative. There are 36 weaving cooperatives in Lhasa. They have helped many shake off poverty.
