China's accelerated 5G commercial use is upgrading connectivity. At the ongoing 22nd China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) in Shenzhen, cutting-edge 5G applications draw visitors from home and abroad. 5G smart poles and smart cities are a highlight at the fair. China granted 5G licenses for commercial use in June 2019. According to statistics from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, a total of 690,000 5G base stations have been set up in China as of the end of September, connecting more than 160 million terminals.
