BEIJING, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- A recently-launched charitable program, aiming at helping rural people shake off poverty, will use livestreaming marketing to boost the sale of agricultural products from poor areas, according to the Chinese Red Cross Foundation.

Called "charitable kitchen," the public welfare activity will sell agricultural products by providing an immersive shopping experience in a virtual kitchen.

Apart from livestreaming marketing, an online crowd-funding platform will be also used as part of the program to facilitate poverty alleviation.

As a key measure to boost rural revitalization, the program focuses on fostering a group of people who can lead poverty alleviation work in rural areas, and promotes sale of quality local goods in other areas, said an official with the Red Cross Society of China. Enditem
