China secures four golds at Olympic boxing qualifiers

AMMAN, Jordan, March 12 (Xinhua) -- China excelled on Wednesday at the Olympic Boxing Qualification event here with four boxers securing gold medals.

China's Chang Yuan beat Japan's fourth seed Tsukimi Namiki 3-2 to claim women's flyweight crown.

"My objective for Tokyo is to be on top of the podium, to hear the national anthem and see national flag waving," Chang said following her win.

Chinese third seed Gu Hong picked up maximum ranking points by beating top seed Chen Nien-Chin of Chinese Taipei in the women's welterweight final.

Li Qian, a 2018 world champion and bronze medallist at Rio 2016, overcame Australia's second seed Cailtin Parker 5-0 and picked up China's third gold medal in the women's finals.

Hu Jianguan of China floored Thai boxer Thitisan Panmot and landed the gold medal in the men's flyweight division.

Beside the four gold medal winners, two other Chinese boxers, Tanglatihan Erbieke (men's 75kg) and Chen Daxiang (men's 81kg), also booked their berths for the Tokyo Olympic Games.
