S.Korean president's approval rating rises to 48 pct: poll

SEOUL, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in's approval rating rose this week, a weekly poll showed Thursday.

According to the Realmeter survey, support for Moon gained 1.4 percentage points over the week to 48.0 percent this week.

The negative assessment on Moon's conduct of state affairs dipped 1.4 percentage points to 48.3 percent.

Support for Moon's ruling Democratic Party added 1.2 percentage points from a week earlier to 41.1 percent this week.

The Party for Future Integration, a merger of the main opposition Liberty Korea Party and two minor conservative parties, won 32.7 percent of approval score this week.

Support for the minor progressive Justice Party fell 0.6 percentage points to 4.2 percent, while the minor Bareun Future Party garnered 3.2 percent of support.

The results were based on a poll of 1,508 voters conducted from Monday to Wednesday. It had plus and minus 2.5 percentage points in margin of error with a 95 percent confidence level.
