MOSCOW, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- The launch of Russia's Soyuz-2 carrier rocket with a Meridian-M military communications satellite has been postponed indefinitely due to technical problems, Russian media reported on Friday.
The launch from the Plesetsk space center was previously postponed from Jan. 24 to Jan. 25.
A Russian space industry source told Sputnik on Friday that "the Soyuz-2 rocket will have to be removed from the launch pad and returned to the assembly and testing facility to fix the problem that prevented the launch."
The problem has been found in the third stage of the rocket, and "the launch has been postponed indefinitely."
Last July, the Russian military launched a Soyuz-2.1 carrier rocket with a Meridian communications satellite, which marked the third launch of the Soyuz-2.1 rocket from the Plesetsk space center in 2019.
