SHANGHAI, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Trip.com Group Limited, China's major online travel agency, reported growth in net revenue and profit, with an expanding international business in the third quarter of this year.

A financial report released Thursday showed the NASDAQ-listed company saw net revenue of 10.5 billion yuan (about 1.5 billion U.S. dollars) in Q3, a 12 percent increase from the same period last year.

Its operating profits reached 2.2 billion yuan, up 52 percent year on year.

The company also saw robust growth in its international businesses, registering a 50 percent rise year on year in Q3.

Its international air ticketing was also a major contributor to the company's global business, with the volume maintaining triple-digit growth for 12 consecutive quarters.

"While continuing to extend our share in China's domestic travel market, we aim to become the leading international travel brand in other Asian markets over the next three years," said Liang Jianzhang, co-founder and executive chairman of the company.

The company will continue to invest in other overseas markets and team up with international travel giants, according to Trip CEO Sun Jie.
