GUANGZHOU, China, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese women's Rugby Sevens team sealed a spot in the Tokyo Olympics after beating the Hong Kong team 33-0 in the final of the Asian Rugby Women's 7s Qualification here on Sunday.

History was made as it was the first time for China's Rugby to appear in the Olympics.

With eight of the top Asian teams competing for only one ticket to the Tokyo Olympics, China showed their dominance in all five matches.

Team China swept Thailand 34-0 in the semifinals, after topping the group by trouncing South Korea 49-0, Hong Kong 42-7 and Sri Lanka 55-0.

Rugby Sevens will make its second appearance in the Olympic Games following its introduction to the Rio Olympics in 2016.
