HOHHOT, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- The 2019 "Journey On The Prairie" Inner Mongolian Cycling League will take place in late October, organizers said on Wednesday.
The league will comprise three stages in total. The first stage will start in regional capital Hohhot in late October, and then extend towards Wuhai City and Alxa Left Banner.
Organizers said the event will include two men's elite groups and one women's elite group for professional cyclists, and an amateur group for enthusiasts of all ages.
The design of the medal is inspired by a bicycle chain ring, with symbols of Hohhot, Wuhai City and Alxa Left Banner and a cyclist drawn on the medal's reverse side.
"The cycling league is also expected to help promote tourism in three cities, as the cyclists will pass through a route with natural landscapes such as grasslands, Wuhai Lake and the Tengger Desert," said Li Zhiyou, deputy director of Inner Mongolia's Sports Bureau.
