China's Xu Xin trashes Japan's last hope in 2019 Asian Table Tennis Championship

YOGYAKARTA, Indonesia, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese top men's singles player Xu Xin beat Tomokazu Harimoto, Japan's last hope in 2019 Asian Table Tennis Championship, in a semifinal match of the group held here on Sunday.

Xu's win in the semifinal enables China to secure all seven gold medals from all groups in the biennial championship held in Among Raga Sports Hall as the other semifinal would take place between Chinese players Fan Zhendong and Lin Gaoyuan.

Xu ousted Harimoto 3-0 with scores of 11-4, 11-9 and 11-9.

Men's singles final match was scheduled later on Sunday.

China has just assured to get the sixth gold medal from women's doubles as two Chinese pairs have trashed their Japanese contenders in both semifinals.

China has received five of seven gold medals offered in the championship held here since September 15, coming from women's doubles, men's doubles, mixed doubles, men's doubles and women's singles.
