DOHA, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Qatar is strongly associated with the Interpol to ensure the security for the 2022 world cup which will be hosted by Qatar, Qatar's state news agency (QNA) reported on Wednesday.

The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy secretary-general Hassan al-Thawadi and the director general of project stadia at Interpol Falah al-dosari mentioned the cooperation while addressing a speech at the opening session of the First Major Event Safety and Security Conference in Doha on Tuesday.

According to the report, Qatar reiterated that terrorism is a real challenge which is experienced by several countries all over the world, and called for the union between all nations in order to secure all the major sports events.

Qatar has been accused by the Saudi-led blockade countries of financing terrorism, and the quartet cut diplomatic ties with Doha on June 5.

Later, senior officials from the blockading countries called on Doha to give up the World Cup to end the ongoing diplomatic crisis between Qatar and its former allies in the Gulf.

Qatar has vehemently denied that the diplomatic crisis will affect ongoing construction work for the World Cup.

Project stadia is established by Interpol in 2012 and funded by Qatar, which aims to secure the policing and security arrangements for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
