MOSCOW, June 12 (Xinhua) -- At least 12 people died and more than 30 people were injured in a bus crash Sunday night in the Trans-Baikal Region in southeastern Russia, local investigative and healthcare authorities said Monday.
The bus with 51 passengers on board crashed into the roadbed and overturned on a highway connecting the cities of Irkutsk and Chita, the regional department of Russia's Investigative Committee said in a statement.
At least 11 people were killed in the accident while 34 among the injured are in serious condition, it said.
The local branch of the Russian Healthcare Ministry said later that one more woman injured in the crash died on the way to the hospital.
The Investigative Committee has launched a probe into the incident.
