Members of the Cote d'Ivoire delegation applaud after Cote d'Ivoire was elected as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council at the UN headquarters in New York, on June 2, 2017. The UN General Assembly on Friday elected Cote d'Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Kuwait, Poland and Peru as non-permanent members of the UN Security Council to serve a two-year term starting Jan. 1, 2018.
