BELGRADE, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Serbia's Prime Minister and President-elect Aleksandar Vucic submitted his resignation to the parliamentary Speaker on Tuesday in order to take over his new duty as president, Tanjug News Agency reported.
The resignation will be adopted by the parliament at the beginning of Wednesday's extraordinary session when Vucic will take oath as the next head of the state, Tanjug writes.
After he is sworn in, Vucic will take over the duty from the incumbent President Tomislav Nikolic.
Vucic was elected for the role of president on April 2.
