MOGADISHU, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khayre on Tuesday announced nominees to the cabinet that comprise 26 ministers, 26 deputy ministers, one deputy prime minister and 15 state ministers.
Khayre urged parliament to speed up vetting and approval of the cabinet nominees to enable them to commence national duties.
Most of the cabinet nominees are veteran lawmakers and envoys whose experience in national and international affairs are expected to aid the new government led by President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo.
The cabinet will be tasked with implementing an ambitious agenda to rebuild Somalia after decades of civil strife.
