DHAKA, March 19 (Xinhua) -- The Bangladeshi anti-crime elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) early on Sunday seized 600,000 yaba tablets in a drive in seaport city Chittagong.
A RAB official told Xinhua from Chittagong that "Eight people, including six Myanmar citizens were also arrested with suspected links to the seizure of 600,000 yaba pills."
Acting on a tip-off, the official who did not like to be named said the law enforcers raided a Chittagong area and seized the tablets, often used for sexual stimulation in Bangladesh and continue to be increasingly popular among drug users, in spite of the efforts of law enforcement agencies to contain the dangers of the narcotics trade.
RAB on Jan. 17, 2016 seized 2.8 million yaba tablets in special drives in Dhaka and seaport city Chittagong,
Law enforcers had then claimed that was the biggest ever seizure of contraband yaba tablets in the country in a day.
