HELSINKI, March 15 (Xinhua) -- The work stoppage by air service staff is set to take place in the Helsinki Airport on Friday, as the negotiations between the Finnish Aviation Labour Union (IAU) and the Association of Service Sector Employers (Palta) failed again.

The Finnish National Conciliator's Office said on Wednesday that the negotiations stalled, as IAU rejected the latest compromise proposal put forward by the national labor conciliator late Tuesday to seek an solution to the dispute.

The rejection of the reconciliation proposal means that the strikes will continue. The next walkout by airport ground staff is scheduled between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday, noted the agency.

The work stoppage is going to affect security control and ground handling services, said the airport operator Finavia.

The next possible work stoppages will be also staged from March 22 to 24.

The prolonged labor dispute between IAU and Palta about the wages and benefits of employees of Airpro, which is a subsidiary of the airport operator Finavia, has lasted for more than one month since the beginning of February.
