TIRANA, March 13 (Xinhua) -- The recently established state-run company Albgas has applied to the Energy Regulatory Authority (ERE) to be certified as a combined operator in the market of natural gas, sources from this company said Monday.
The creation of this company by a government decision in early Dec. 2016 aimed at serving country's gasification project through the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).
Upon completion of the file with the respective documents defined by the legal framework in force, Albgas asked ERE to include the Albgas procedure in the agenda of the board meeting.
Thus, after evaluating all necessary documents, ERE is expected to make a final decision on the certification of Albgas, media reported.
The company was established as a division of the state oil company Albpetrol, taking over all the segment covering gas.
The initial capital of the company, according to the decision, was 359 million leks (2.8 million U.S. dollars).
