PARIS, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Skiers were swept away by an avalanche at Tignes ski resort in the French Alps on Tuesday, but no victims had been reported, according to local media reports.
A police spokesman, quoted by the news channel BFMTV, said many people were buried by the avalanche that came down on the busiest piste at 10:00 local time (0900 GMT).
No victim had been reported, it added, citing police and rescue teams.
The avalanche forced the resort staff to evacuate all the skiers and to close the zone. Its risk remains high at four on a scale of five.
On February, four skiers were killed due to an 400-wide avalanche rushed down an off-piste near Tignes.
Since the beginning of winter, 13 avalanche have been reported in the French Alps, according to local reports.
