Indonesia's electricity firm to issue global bond at H2

JAKARTA, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's state-owned electricity company PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) will issue a 1.5 billion-U.S. dollars global bond at the second half of this year, top official of the firm said Thursday.

The proceeds would be used for financing infrastructures projects of the company, including transmission and distribution facilities, said Sofyan Basir, president director of the firm.

The issuance "could be in April this year," Sofyan revealed.

The bond would be offered to investors in Asia, Pacific, the United States and Europe, according to him.

Accelerating economy has led Indonesia attempting to comply with rising energy demand.
