NEW YORK, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale jolted South of the Fiji Islands at 13:14:02 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 555.12 kilometers, was initially determined to be at 23.34 degrees south latitude and 179.31 degrees east longitude.
