TIRANA, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Foreign tourists and visitors this summer have helped generate more than 500 million euros in revenue for Albania, official data revealed on Tuesday.
During the July-Sept. period, the peak of tourism season, foreign visitors spent 521 million euros (552 million U.S. dollars) in Albania, according to the data released by the Albanian central bank.
As a result, the revenues generated by tourism sector jumped 25 percent year on year in the July-Sept. period from a year ago.
In the first nine months, Albania's tourism sector generated 1.1 billion euros, an increase of 15 percent year on year. Enditem
