TEHRAN, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Two people died in the crash of a helicopter in a lake in the capital Tehran on Tuesday, the head of public relations of Tehran Emergency Center told official IRNA news agency.
The helicopter, which belonged to Iran's Helicopter Manufacturing Company, crashed in the Shohadai-e-Khalij Fars lake of Tehran at 11:40 a.m. local time (0810 GMT) on Tuesday, Hassan Abbasi said.
Eight people on board the aircraft were injured and taken to the hospital, but two of them died in the hospital due to the critical injuries, Abbasi was quoted as saying.
Iran's Helicopter Manufacturing Company said in a statement that the cause of the incident will be announced later.
