JAKARTA, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Rescuers have recovered more body parts after a plane crashed on Saturday in west Indonesia, rescuer disclosed Monday.
"Another body bag containing body parts of the victims has been brought by rescuer," Marsudi, spokesman of national search and rescue office told Xinhua by phone from Pangkal Pinang town, one of the nearest areas to the scene of the incident.
Previously, rescuers had found body parts and put them into three body bags, according to the spokesman.
Search and rescue operation continued on Monday in the waters off Batam Island, where the police plane went down, he said.
The N-28 Skytruck plane carrying 13 police personnel crashed in the waters after losing communication with flight authorities, according to Marsudi.
Previously, he reported that the number of those on board was 16, but, he revised to 13 as three of them had ended their journey when the plane was landing in Pangkal Pinang town.
The incident occurred after the aircraft left the town for Batam Island, Marsudi added.
Over 300, soldiers, police, those from local search and rescue officers, and volunteers are involved in a search and rescue operation, he revealed.
Besides, scores of ships and helicopters are also dispatched in the operation, the spokesman said.
