RIGA, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- More than 20 foreign embassies and diplomatic missions took part in the annual Christmas Charity Bazaar at the Riga Town Hall on Saturday to raise money for charitable causes.

The International Women's Club of Riga, which organized the charity event for the 20th time already, offered visitors of the bazaar not only an opportunity to purchase unusual gifts like hand-made souvenirs, toys and traditional Christmas presents from various countries worldwide, but also to participate in exciting auctions and tombolas.

Visitors could buy home-made food representing the national cuisines of various nations, accessories and interior design articles, as well as a variety of Christmas gifts from China, Canada, Italy, Uzbekistan, Scandinavian countries, Germany, France, Lithuania and elsewhere.

The money raised at the event will be donated to 15 charity projects in Latvia, with special attention to low-income families, young single mothers, children in need, elderly people, and victims of violence, the organizers said.

Last year's Christmas Charity Bazaar at the Riga Town Hall raised 39,000 euros(41,608.88 U.S. dollars) for charity projects.
