PARIS, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- The number of registered jobseekers in France fell by 0.3 percent in October for the second successive month, official data showed on Thursday.
The decline of unemployment rate will offer a boost to President Francois Hollande, who set creating jobs as a pre-condition for running presidential election in 2017.
France received jobless claims from 3.478 million people in October, 11,700 less than that of September, Labor Ministry said.
On a yearly basis, the monthly unemployment rate was down by 2.8 percent.
In a last chance to devote on his promise to lower unemployment rate, Hollande proposed a 2-billion-euro-(2.11-billion U.S. dollars)-plan to create more jobs via improved training for 500,000 unemployed people and more incentives to encourage recruitment.
In a visit to a start-up dealing with on-line training earlier on Thursday, the French head of state acknowledged the fight to bring down the double digit unemployment "will be long."
