Vietnam's year-end parliamentary session concludes, 3 laws adopted

HANOI, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- The second session of Vietnam's 14th National Assembly (NA) concluded in capital Hanoi on Wednesday, with three laws and 11 resolutions adopted.

During the session which opened on Oct. 20, Vietnamese lawmakers adopted three laws including law on faith and religion, law on property auction and law amending article 6 and annex 4 on list of conditional business activities of the law on investment, said Le Bo Linh, vice head of the NA Office and NA vice general secretary at a press briefing held here Wednesday on the outcomes of the session.

Among 11 resolutions adopted during the session, the country's top legislature agreed on socio-economic development plan for the year 2017, financial planning, mid-term public investment, and economic restructure plan for 2016-2020 period, as well as on pilot issuance of electronic visa for foreigners travelling to Vietnam, and termination of investment plan into the country's first nuclear power plant.

Meanwhile, Vietnamese legislators also gave first readings on 12 bills such as amended law on railway, law on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, amended law on management and using of state properties, and amended law on technology transfer among others, Linh told reporters.

At the session, Vietnamese NA targeted the gross domestic product (GDP) expansion in 2017 to hit 6.7 percent. Trade revenue is set to grow 6 percent to 7 percent while the inflation is projected to be under 4 percent.
