COPENHAGEN, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Authorities in Denmark on Monday ordered farmers in the country to lock chickens and other captive birds behind the fence or under the roof to prevent bird flu from spreading.
The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration said in a statement that it is mandatory to keep poultry indoor, while ducks, geese and game birds can be kept outside but must be fed under roof.
The administration announced on Thursday that two cases of H5N8 bird flu had been found in Denmark, both with tufted ducks in Copenhagen and an island in southeast Zealand respectively. Enditem
