NEW YORK, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale jolted 24 km ENE of Ishinomaki, Japan at 21:42:59 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 44.83 km, was initially determined to be at 38.4993 degrees north latitude and 141.5611 degrees east longitude.
