HANOI, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's trade surplus hit 864 million U.S. dollars in September, bringing the country's nine-month trade surplus to nearly 3.72 billion U.S. dollars, according to latest data by Vietnam Customs on Wednesday.
Specifically, as of September, Vietnam's trade revenue stood at some 253.44 billion U.S. dollars, up 3.9 percent year-on-year.
The country exported around 128.58 billion U.S. dollars worth of products and commodities, up 7 percent year-on-year while spending over 124.86 billion U.S. dollars on imports, up 0.9 percent year-on-year.
Earlier in late September, the General Statistics Office (GSO) estimated that the country's trade surplus would reach some 2.8 billion U.S. dollars in the first nine months.
In Vietnam, the GSO-published monthly socio-economic statistics is calculated from the 15th day of the previous month to the 15th day of the reference month.
