TOKYO, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares slipped Wednesday morning as the market waited cautiously for the outcome of the Bank of Japan's two-day policy meeting ending later in the day.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 80.18 points, or 0.49 percent, from Tuesday to 16,411.97.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 5.39 points, or 0.41 percent, to 1,311.58.
Decliners were led by insurance, miscellaneous product and electric appliance issues.
